- Abstract
- Blue crystals of [CrN(CH2CH2NMe2)3Br]Br are pptd. by reaction between anhyd. CrBr2 and a 10% excess of the amine in hot BuOH. The compd. has a magnetic moment of 4.85 Bohr magneton. X-ray powder photographs show it to be isomorphous with the trigonal bipyramidal Co analog. Reflectance spectra and the spectrum of a CH2Cl2 soln. show an asym. band in the 10-15,000 cm.-1 region, possibly arising from 5A -> 5E transitions. [on SciFinder (R)]
